FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What's your style?
I enjoy doing black and grey realism tattoos, especially portraits. All other styles as well as cover ups and fixing others' work would be better suited for another artist. I strive to have my pieces be unique and filled with meaning. I believe getting a tattoo is a spiritual and transforming event that should be treated as so. I try to be as thorough as possible in my whole process. This is to ensure your experience is everything you deserve as a client.
  • Do you do color tattoos?
No, my passion and expertise is in black and grey realism.
  • Do you do cover ups or changes to existing tattoos?
No, I don't make adjustments to other artist’s work.
  • How much do your pieces cost?
Based on the vision from our Consultation, I can understand the amount of time your piece will take and provide an accurate quote. As far as portraits go their prices start at a minimum of $800. One thing I love is breaking down barriers. As I've developed my business, I've worked to find new ways to make my art accessible and a great experience. One aspect has been to provide multiple options to pursue the work and art you want while not feeling overburdened. **During your Consultion we will discuss the price of the piece and the best way to obtain payment. Whether it be Cash,Zelle, or payment using our Affirm option.
  • Do you require a Deposit ? If so how much?
Yes all appointments require a deposit of $500.
  • Does my Deposit go towards my tattoo?
Yes your deposit does go towards your tattoo. It's also what solidifies your date/time for your tattoo appointment. No appointments will be made without deposit being paid.
  • Is the deposit refundable?
Deposits are non-refundable. Once a deposit is made and appointment has been set that day/time is no longer available for anyone else. Time is spent by the artist on research and design of the piece. By paying deposit you are telling the artist you are commited and it is ok to start dedicating time and energy to the project. Please take the proper steps to insure you are ready to follow through with the tattoo process. *
  • What do I need for my Consultation?
In preparation for the Consultation please have the following ready: Reference images or examples of existing art you like Research of any particular topics pertaining to the meaning of your tattoo An idea of the tattoo placement including any future tattoos that may affect overall look How you may finance your project An open mind to collaborate and find the best piece unique for you
  • What should I do in preparation for my tattoo?
Leading up to your session, I recommend the following routine: 1 week before: Exfoliate and moisturize your skin daily to help your pores and help to keep your skin hydrated and healthy. Remember to avoid products with alcohol as they will dry your skin out. Drink lots of water. A good goal is to drink eight 8-oz glasses of water a day to fully ensure that your skin is hydrated and prepared for your tattoo session. Hydrated skin takes ink a lot better than dehydrated skin and result in better quality. 24hrs before: Stop moisturizing to ensure that your skin will be in its best shape for proper ink absorption. The night before your appointment make sure to get plenty of rest and avoid any alcohol. The day of: To be as comfortable as possible during your tattoo I recommend wearing loose clothing to help make sure that you don't get itchy or overheated and allow for you to easily re-adjust your positioning. Things to keep in mind: Any vacations or activities that may affect the healing process of your piece, if possible postpone any activities involving lots of water, sunshine or rigorous movement in the month afterwards.
  • How long is each session?
Based on the vision from our Design Session, I can understand the amount of time your piece will take.
  • Do I get to see my design prior to my session?
Yes, your artist will be sending you design prior to your appointment as well as any questions they may have. Keep in mind some designs may require some free hand techniques/adjustments that will need to be done the day of appointment. This is where the design session is so important it ensures the artist and client are on the same page and you are prepared on the day of your appointment.
  • Do you have anything to help with pain?
I want to make sure that you are comfortable throughout your session and while you it's possible to experience a certain level of discomfort I have a numbing anesthetic cream with 5% Lidocaine to quickly numb your skin and deliver fast-acting pain relief as desired.
  • What should I do after getting my tattoo?
As part of your aftercare you will be provided with a kit that includes Derm Shield and my personal Authentic B&G ointment. Please leave Derm Shield on for at least 24 hrs before the following: Wash your hands thoroughly. Remove Derm Shield with warm running water. Begin by gently pulling on the corner, removing SLOWLY and applying light pressure on the area. This will minimize tugging on the skin. Clean your tattoo with a fragrance free antibacterial soap, rinse and pat dry with a clean paper towel. Let your skin completely air dry before re-applying an additional Derm Shield. Leave on for 5 days. Follow steps 1 and 2 then apply a small amount of Authentic B&G Aftercare ointment, do this a couple times a day for 2 weeks. Remember to avoid direct sunlight for the first month and excessive sweating or moisture in the first 5 days.
  • Do you do touch ups?
All my sessions are followed by a follow up session 6 weeks following the completion of your project. Any touch ups after that time frame will require an additional charge.
